8 Simple Steps to Building a Mattone Barile DIY Pizza Oven
- STEP 1 -
Place / Position the Mattone Barile foam form on top of your pizza oven base.
- STEP 2 -
Mortar firebrick / refractory brick along the elevated foam ridges w/ high-temp mortar.
- STEP 3 -
Mortar firebrick into place at the rear of the oven and build the chimney (3 rows high).
- STEP 4 -
Wrap the oven with 2 layers of Ceramic Fiber Blanket (3 layers would be better).
- STEP 5 -
Secure the Ceramic Fiber Blanket to the oven with chicken wire then apply stucco.
- STEP 6 -
Once the oven has 2 layers of stucco, attach the DuraTech Exhaust Kit.
- STEP 7 -
Give the oven a finished look by applying brick or stone veneer (optional).
- STEP 8 -
Retain more heat by closing-off the front of the oven and adding a damper (optional).

FedEx Ground - All Pizza Oven Kits, Exhaust Kits, Pizza Oven Doors and Ceramic Fiber Blanket (85" and smaller) are shipped via FedEx Ground.
UPS - If your Pizza Oven Package includes a box of Ceramic Fiber Blanket / Insulation Blanket, this portion of your order will arrive via UPS.
PLEASE NOTE - The blanket may arrive a few days before or after your pizza oven kit has been delivered.
Freight Truck - Packages that include refractory products (like fire brick, mortar &/or castable refractory) arrive via a freight truck. Due to the insane costs associated with freight delivery, these packages are non-refundable.
